Control is the key word. I think unless you pay for a social media platform that espouses to have no foot in any political arena, you are going to get this.

Bluesky either officially or unofficially, is the Twitter/X ex-pat community for the left. Instead of charting a neutral place where discussion can evolve, this is an echo chamber, the same kind Twitter was pre X. It will fail.

Advertisers have too much skin in the game, and if people aren't paying for the service, this is where the money will do the talking. Advertisers will run a doctrine until it's no good, they always realise too late. Advertisers blow where the wind blows.

I'm neither American nor particularly right over left. I have views that both sides have problems with which is why I always suited sitting somewhere in the middle. If you continue this polarisation, the situation will never get better. What ends that polarisation is the end to name calling and using minorities as human shields.

The first sign of change for advertiser appetite is Apple's new family advert. I believe this to be the beginning of the shift. When advertisers realise/concede that they can make more money appealing to the traditional side, these "progressive" silos will hurt for money.

Just to note I don't have any issue with alternative lifestyles, just that as an observation, the world is shifting towards two brands of puritanical ideology. One side favours traditions and religions, the other favours defying conventions.
